Why road accidents happen?
A road accident is one of the most dreaded things that may happen to a driver on the road, despite the fact that they occur rather frequently. The vast majority of road users are fully aware of the general laws of the road and the safety precautions that should be taken when travelling on it. Still, accidents and collisions happen due to a lack of caution on the part of road users.
Drivers frequently make mistakes as a result of a mix of an unexpected incidents and a lack of concentration. In most cases, unanticipated incidents occur as a result of the driver doing something unusual, another driver doing something unexpected, or as a result of a sudden development like a mechanical breakdown or a weather event.
The majority of fatal accidents, however, are caused by excessive speeding. Humans have a built-in desire to achieve success. If given the opportunity, man will almost certainly try to approach infinity in terms of speed. However, since we are driving on the road with the other road users as well, we will constantly be a few seconds behind one or another car. Increased speed increases the likelihood of an accident as well as the severity of any injuries sustained in an accident. Other factors include driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, attempting to overtake, being distracted, and so on.
Accidents are also frequently attributed to just poor luck. While it’s true that there is some element of chance present, an accident is frequently the consequence of a succession of circumstances, some of which are minor and others which are major. According to a study conducted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, driver error was the root cause of 94 percent of automobile accidents. As a result, human error is by far the major cause of road accidents.
