Unleash The Detective In You With The Girl Who Stands Behind

FeaturedVid Aug 19

The Nintendo has finally released the second part of The Famicom Detective Club Series – The Girl Who Stands Behind on Nintendo Switch. The Famicom Detective Club Series is a remake of the thirty year old game of the same name and it’s incredible to see how a three decade old game still stands up well among the gaming freaks.

The detective game feels like a visual novel and draws the player inside to feel like a character of the novel itself. You as a character can make your own choices, and the most interesting part of such genres of games is that different choices do cause the story to take a different turn. The final outcome still remains the same, but the path to it can be slightly different each time you make a different choice.

The story is about a rich family with mysterious secrets. The player sets on as a detective to unravel the mystery of a student’s corpse that washes up on the banks of the river. But this journey to find the murderer leads the detective to a much deeper story that he realises. The title “girl who stands behind” is actually a rumour circulating in the school about a ghost of a student which is allegedly seen soaked with blood.

The story is set in a high school and most of the time you will be scanning various classrooms and questioning students and teachers. There will be various moments when the game will feel like deliberately slowing you down just to stretch the plot, but that’s a case with all the games of such genres. And on the whole, the game is an exciting one, and if you are a fan of detective games, it’s no less that an adventure.
